Veneers are one of the best tools that cosmetic dentists have for making teeth look beautiful. They are made of wafer thin porcelain or composite materials that are bonded to the tooth.
Veneers Can Be Used To:
- improve the size, shape and color of a tooth
- correct imperfections
- close spaces between teeth
- correct bite and bite-related problems
- lengthen or shorten teeth
The process of placing veneers can be completed in as few as two visits. Much of the work involved in creating a great veneers takes place in the laboratory, like our onsite laboratory. We also use daVinci vaneers (the first laboratory to introduce porcelain veneers to the west coast over 3 decades ago). They are extremely high quality veneers and have been seen on the TV shows Extreme Makeover and The Swan. DaVinci Veneers are constructed to be a permanent restoration.
Getting the perfect shape and shade is one of the most important aspects of obtaining perfect veneers, so having veneers made by a skilled dentist, like Dr. Stone, is an important part of the process.
How Much Do Veneers Cost?
According to the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, veneers can cost between $800 to $2,000 per veneer, depending on:
- the material
- the process used to place the veneers
- the number of teeth requiring veneers
- the skill and expertise of the cosmetic dentist placing the veneers
Many veneers are as strong, or even stronger, than natural tooth enamel and can last from 5-20 years. The care of veneers is similar to care for natural teeth, although using a non-abrasive toothpaste is recommended. Veneers are resistant to stains, but it’s still a good idea to brush after drinking coffee, wine or tea. Read more about caring for your veneers here.
Most insurance companies don’t cover veneers, but Dental Financing is available. Veneers are an investment in a beautiful smile.
